I have a model Y long range and most of the time It only gets driven a few miles per day, with long(er) trips every 2 weeks or so.
On a daily basis the car gets charged to 80%. So far I have been plugging it in every night. Does it make more sense to run the battery down to say 50% and then charge it? It would reduce the number of charging cycles, (although I am not sure what constitutes a cycle – going from 76% to 80% – is that a cycle?)
It is my understanding the battery life is a function of charging cycles as well as depth of discharge and charging speed so what is the closest to the sweet spot for battery life?
Thanks for any pointers.
