A few months back someone made a post about their Tesla not charging because it was cold. A lot of users said different things. Today I am going to show you how to get it charging without driving it.
This will be a live updated post. Right now Chicago is so cold that my car did not charge last night. I got home from work at 5:30. Before I left work my car had this from sitting outside all day. I don’t start charging right away because I have https://hourlypricing.comed.com/live-prices/ this means that I will always start charging at 2am. This is about the time the price will be at the lowest and will be super cheap or maybe free some nights.
From 5:30pm to 2am the car has been sitting in cold temps. This is temp outside now. When I woke up this morning I saw that my car did not have a charging complete notification. This is a screenshot from this morning. After some food and then deciding to make a post about this. Here is another screenshot. I knew the car will not charge as this has happened before.
Now we wait for 1:30pm. Once the time hits I will go back to the car and check to see if it will charge when plugged in.
